Dr Jenny Woodley is a Senior Lecturer in Modern History at Nottingham Trent University. Her research interests are in African American History, and she has published a monograph on the relationship between culture and civil rights. More recently, her research has considered race, commemoration, and memorials. Her project on remembering and mourning Black victims of lynching was funded by the British Academy. She is the recipient of a Leverhulme Research Fellowship for her new project, Mourning at the Museum: Interpreting Grief at Black Heritage Sites. Click here for more information
